A European Bridge Language: A Linguistic Development Project

Today’s Europe needs more than automated machine translation – it needs a shared platform for genuine human communication. Eurolingve is an ongoing, scientifically grounded planned language project tailored specifically for the European continent. Our objective is to connect the three major European language families – Romance, Germanic, and Slavic – on an equal footing.

The linguistic architecture is designed to make the language easy to learn, gender-neutral, and naturally sounding. While digital translators and AI models are everywhere, they cannot replace a shared language that creates cultural identity and enables direct connection without reliance on technology. Eurolingve is engineered from the ground up to be both human-centered and AI-compatible – an open language-building project that researchers and students can actively shape.

From Esperanto to Eurolingve – The Improvements

Eurolingve builds on the foundations of Esperanto, the Ido reform project, and Interlingua, but with a refined focus: keeping Europe at the center, ensuring a natural linguistic feel, and establishing strictly defined rules for research and AI. If a dedicated Eurolingve term is temporarily absent, an Esperanto root can be used subsidiarily.

Academic Collaboration

For the academic validation and practical development of Eurolingve, we are seeking committed partners in the Republic of Moldova, including Transnistria – spanning theoretical linguistics to practical applications.

  • Professors & Academics (Scientific Oversight & Evaluation): Your role involves the critical review of the linguistic system – from grammar and phonetic transcription (Latin and Cyrillic alphabets) to practical feasibility. Your official evaluation will serve as the scientific foundation validating Eurolingve in academia.
  • Students & Practical Contributors (Vocabulary & Co-Design): You actively participate in refining grammar rules, integrating recommendations from academic evaluations, and expanding the Eurolingve lexicon (e.g., correlatives and vocabulary lists). Prior knowledge of Esperanto is not required, as it can be learned in a matter of days.

Special Focus: Practical Application in Tourism. While many planned languages attempt to cover dozens of specialized domains at once, Eurolingve deliberately focuses first on the tourism and hospitality sector – an area of everyday relevance for travelers and hosts alike. Whether you are a language-enthusiastic hotel receptionist, a tourism professional, or an engaged student: everyone interested is warmly invited to contribute!

Our Shared Goal:
We are looking for collaborators driven by genuine enthusiasm for the project. By establishing this active academic network, we build the foundation to secure grants, subsidies, and sponsors – paving the way for sustainable local structures (such as a regional non-profit association) in the Republic of Moldova.

Workload & Compensation:

  • Students & Contributors: Approx. 10 hours per week. Current baseline rate: €5/hour (with the defined target of increasing to €10/hour starting in 2027 through secured grants and funding).
  • Professors & Evaluators: A fair financial compensation is provided for expert assessments and academic supervision.

Roadmap & Key Milestones

The development of Eurolingve proceeds in two defined stages: By late 2026, we will present Eurolingve 1.0 as a fully functional reference model. It establishes the core linguistic identity and provides partners with a tangible foundation.

Building on direct feedback, academic reviews, and refinements, we will then release Eurolingve 2.0 – the comprehensive edition featuring finalized grammar, a complete base lexicon, and specialized tourism vocabulary. The core essence remains stable and is solely refined in detail.

Phase 1: Eurolingve 1.0 (by late 2026)

Completion of the first working reference version (1.0). It demonstrates the structural grammar and syntax to facilitate academic evaluation and early feedback.

Phase 2: Validation & Lexicon (from 2027)

Incorporation of academic review findings and expansion of the foundational vocabulary (approx. 4,000 words), including specialized tourism terminology.

Phase 3: Eurolingve 2.0 & Practical Course (2027)

Launch of the mature version Eurolingve 2.0 accompanied by a practical language course tailored for the hospitality and travel industry.
